Veneers are matched to the color of your natural teeth, which provides you with a beautiful, seamless smile.
To begin the process, you’ll meet with Dr. Sarno at Foothill Modern Dental to discuss your cosmetic needs and get an oral exam. She’ll discuss all of your options, including veneers, and help you decide which treatment is right for your needs and your budget.
Once you’re approved, you’ll come in for a follow-up appointment. Dr. Sarno will clean and numb your mouth, then remove a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer. Then, she’ll take impressions and molds of the teeth. She will send these to a dental lab, where your permanent set of veneers will be made.
Dr. Sarno will send you home with a set of temporary veneers to protect your teeth. Then, our partner dental lab will build your porcelain veneers and send them back to Foothill Modern Dental. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Once your veneers arrive at our office, you’ll come in for your final appointment. Dr. Sarno will remove your temporary veneers and prep your teeth. Then, she’ll attach your permanent veneers with powerful dental cement. She will buff and polish your teeth one last time, then send you home to enjoy your new smile.
Veneers are made of durable porcelain ceramic materials. Porcelain is non-porous, so it cannot become stained, unlike natural teeth. Veneers also hold up well to the forces of biting and chewing, and are very resistant to breakage and wear.
Porcelain veneers look and feel just like natural teeth. The material used for your veneers will be identical to your real teeth in color, shine, and appearance. You’ll get a picture-perfect smile that looks and feels natural, not artificial.
How do you care for veneers? Brush and floss, eat a healthy diet, and see your Foothill Ranch dentist for a checkup every six months. That’s it! Since they're so strong and don’t stain, veneers require very little care. You can just treat them like your natural teeth.
Veneers can protect the
natural enamel of your teeth.
This depends on how well you care for your teeth and your veneers. They tend to have a lifespan of between 10-15 years. However, veneers can last much longer, in some cases. And as your veneers wear out, Dr. Sarno can simply replace them and keep your smile looking amazing.
As long as you have a healthy mouth and the issues you’re having are purely cosmetic, you’ll be a good candidate for veneers. However, veneers are not recommended if you have serious oral health issues or orthodontic problems. The best way to find out if you’re a candidate is to contact Foothill Modern Dental for a consultation with Dr. Sarno.
Veneers can last between 15 and 20 years with proper care.
